Gavin Hunt eager to bounce back in “tough” run of games

SuperSport United coach Gavin Hunt says he can’t wait to see his side turn the tide in the remaining games, starting with their home fixture against Polokwane City in the DStv Premiership on Wednesday night.

Matsatsantsa want to quickly forget the 4-0 drubbing handed to them by Stellenbosch FC at the weekend in the Nedbank Cup quarterfinals.

Hunt’s side have managed just two wins in 10 games from all competitions, and the coach doesn’t hide from the fact that they’ve had a “tough” few weeks.

''You know, we've had a bit of a bad run, the last game or two. People can talk about the draws, it's three away games - we have played really tough games,'' said Hunt.

The title might already be a foregone conclusion and heading to Mamelodi Sundowns yet again, but there remains a race for second place.

Hunt insists they are still in with a shot even with their youngsters who blow hot and cold.

''We will try every game, we can’t blame them for the turn of events, it's been a collective effort,'' added Hunt.

Hunt will stick with the academy players to give them more experience for the future.

''They will learn in the process. I mean these boys come from winning the Diski, it is easy there, but when it comes to senior level you battle away. But they will get better,'' he concluded.

Goalkeeper Ricardo Goss is also confident SuperSport will end their dip in form as they are desperate for positive results.
