Bosch enjoyed an outstanding semi-final, with a career best 74 not-out off just 58 deliveries – amassing eight fours and one six – as she led the team to a convincing eight-wicket victory over defending champions Australia on Thursday evening.
After claiming the player of the match honour, Bosch stated she is incredibly proud of the team for securing back-to-back World Cup finals.
“Just incredibly proud of the team, the way we approached this World Cup and how we have played. I think we haven’t played our best game yet, but hopefully we will leave it for the final,” said the batter.
When asked about her brilliant individual performance, Bosch attributed it to teamwork and just being able to adapt to the coaches’ requirements.
“I think the mindset was a bit different for me, trying to score as much as we can to put the team forward, but it is good that we were able to adapt to the coaches requirements,’’ added Bosch.
The 31-year-old further explained what it meant to put out sweet revenge over the Australians, who beat them in the final in Cape Town last year.
“Look, they are the best team in the world, they have won so many trophies and they are very difficult to beat. For us, coming into this game, we knew we had nothing to lose, and gave it our all,” she said.
“But after that win against them earlier in the year, that gave us great confidence coming to the semi-final.”
The Proteas will face the winners of the second semi-final between New Zealand and West Indies in the Sunday’s finale at Dubai International Stadium.
