The Royals have now won all three of their matches and got the bonus point, while in stark contrast the Super Kings have lost all four of their matches.
The Super Kings won the toss and chose to bat. It was slow going from the start for the visitors, who mustered only 65 runs from their opening ten. Ngidi once again was the talisman in the opening half of the innings as he cleaned up Kings captain Faf du Plessis and Wayne Madsen.
It was a poor batting performance from the Gauteng outfit. Leus du Plooy gave them some hope with a well-played 71 off 43 balls, but besides that only two batsmen reached double figures - Du Plessis (10) and Moeen Ali (18).
Ngidi continued his magnificent form in the tournament with three wickets from 3.5 overs at an economy rate of just 4.3, while the other bowlers were also impressive as the Super Kings could only post 134 all out of 19.5 overs.
The Royals chased down the total at a canter. Buttler put on a masterclass with a destructive with 70 off 37 balls. Wihaan Lubbe played a good supporting role with 39 off 30. David Miller's side lost just three wickets and got the bonus point courtesy of chasing down the total within 16 overs.
The Royals are now top of the table with the same number of points as the Durban Super Giants by virtue of a superior net run-rate, while the winless Super Kings are second from bottom in fifth and will need to turn things around quickly if they are to salvage their tournament.
