Pretoria Capitals book place in SA20 final with win over Paarl Royals

Rilee Rossouw's knock laid the platform for the Pretoria Capitals' 29-run victory over the Paarl Royals in an SA20 clash at the Wanderers Stadium on Wednesday evening.

It took the Capitals a while to get going as opener Phil Salt contributed a patient 22 balls off 21 balls.

This, before Rossouw entered the fray and swatted 56 runs off 41 balls, while Eathan Bosch finished the innings of with aplomb with 22 runs off 10 balls to sway the momentum in favour of the Capitals going into the Royals' innings.

The Royals' star-studded batting lineup failed including Jason Roy, Paul Stirling, Jos Buttler, Dane Vilas and Eoin Morgan with David Miller the only holding firm as wickets fell around him.

It looked promising when Andile Phehlukwayo began smoothly after joining David Miller but the all-rounder was nipped in the bud with 10 off 13 and then Bjorn Fortuin was skittled out, leaving Miller on strike needing 30 runs off the final two overs and Lungi Ngidi at the other end.

Nortje took two wickets in his final over including a fantastic catch from Colin Ingram to dismiss Miller and then Tabraiz Shamsi to steer the men from Pretoria into the final.
