South Africa captain Kayla Reyneke won the toss and opted to bowl and the decision was rewarded immediately when Nthabiseng Nini dismissed Samoa opener Norah Salima with the first ball of the match.
That set tone for the rest of the innings as Samoa crumbled in the face of accurate bowling from the South African women.
Nini took another two wickets to finish with figures of 3-4 in two overs and picked up the player-of-the-match award for her efforts.
Three other bowlers chipped in with two wickets apiece as Fay Cowling (2-4), Seshnie Naidu (2-0) and Reyneke (2-5) cleaned up the rest of the batting line-up.
The Samoa batters were no match for their counterparts with the highest score being three by skipper Avetia Mapu and Stella Sagalala while there were five ducks in the innings and six wides bowled.
South Africa openers Simone Lourens (6 not out) and Jemma Botha (6 not out) then had no trouble chasing the 17-run target, requiring just 10 legal deliveries.
The big win for South Africa followed up their 22-run victory over New Zealand in the tournament opener on Saturday with their final group game against fellow African outfit Nigeria to be played on Wednesday.
