SA20: Joburg Super Kings make it two wins from two after beating Durban's Super Giants

Joburg Super Kings made it two wins from two in this season's SA20 after beating Durban's Super Giants by 28 runs at Kingsmead on Tuesday.

The Super Kings posted a total of 169-7 after captain Faf du Plessis had won toss and opted to bat before bowling the home side out for 141 to complete the victory.

Leus du Plooy top-scored for the visitors with 38 while there were further contributions from Jonny Bairstow (26), Donovan Ferreira (26), Devon Conway (22) and Wihan Lubbe (17).

The home team's twins of Prenelan Subrayen and captain Keshav Maharaj were the best bowlers on display in the first innings with figures of 2-24 and 2-28 respectively.

The Super Kings had there own triple spin threat to call upon with veteran Imran Tahir, Tabraiz Shamsi and Donovan Ferreira shining with the ball as they defended the target.

Ferreira prised out the wickets of Wiaan Mulder (9) and Jason Smith (0) while only going for 15 runs in his four overs and Shamsi also took 2-18 in two overs.

Quinton de Kock (55 from 45 balls) was playing a lone hand trying to keep the hosts in the contest but the wicketkeeper-batter fell to fast bowler Gerald Coetzee (2-32) in the 18th over to seal the win for the Super Kings.

Du Plessis' charges next face Pretoria Capitals at the Wanderers on Thursday while the Super Giants will look to get back to winning ways when they host Sunrisers Eastern Cape on Friday.
