SA20: MI Cape Town continue good form after thrashing Durban's Super Giants

MI Cape Town were once again in top form at a sold-out Newlands as the home team powered to a seven-wicket bonus-point victory against Durban's Super Giants in their SA20 clash on Saturday.

Ryan Rickelton continued his superb form with the bat, striking 63 off 44 balls, while George Linde (29 not out of 8 balls) was in destructive mood as MI Cape Town comfortably chased down a target of 150 with more than five overs to spare.

Opening pair Rickelton and Rassie van der Dussen (24 off 18 balls) gave the hosts a perfect platform in the run-chase, putting on 75 in the first eight overs.

Dewald Brevis added 26 off 16 balls before Linde finished the contest in a flourish, smashing the Super Giants' new Australian recruit Marcus Stoinis for four sixes in the 15th over.

Earlier, the visitors had Heinrich Klaasen (66 off 43 balls) and Kane Williamson (56 not out off 44 balls) to thank after posting a total of 149-6 in their 20 overs.

The Super Giants were in deep trouble at 22-4 in the seventh over when the international pair came together to put up some resistance in a partnership of 121 in 79 balls.

Trent Boult (1-16 in 4 overs) and Linde (1-20) did the early damage with the ball for MI Cape Town before captain Rashid Khan (2-34) snapped up a couple of wickets in the middle overs.
