Momentum Proteas captain Sune Luus is positive that the team will bounce back against England in the last format before the team heads into the Commonwealth Games.

South Africa drew the once-off test against the hosts and were not able to get a single win in the three-match One Day International (ODI) series.

The two face off tonight in the first of three Twenty20 (T20) matches, and Luus says they have to forget about their dismal performance in the ODIs and be positive to start the new series on a high note.

"Ja, obviously not a great ODI series for us but we had a travel day and an off day, so just some time to refresh before we kick off the T20 series," Luus said.

"I think we had a good training session and the talks are just to stay positive, we're going into a new series now so whatever happened in the ODIs we can leave it there and start afresh for the T20s, with a positive mindset and just knowing we have a couple of games before the Commonwealth Games."

The team will welcome experienced players such as Masabatha Klaas and Mignon du Preez back to the squad for the T20 series after they sat out the ODIs, and Luus reckons their experience and energy will come as a huge boost for the team.

"It's always nice having Masabatha and Mignon back, I think they are experienced campaigners and they also have a lot of energy, having not been here and being away from home for as long [as the rest of the squad]," she added.

"So, we welcome the energy they bring, the positivity as well, so we're very excited to take the field with them in the T20s."
