Banyana Banyana head coach Desiree Ellis has spotted some positives and improved performance from her team despite losing 4-1 to Australia in an international friendly match played at the Kingsmeadow stadium in London yesterday.
Forced to field a second strong side, as she was missing a number of her key players in the team, owing to various reasons, Ellis felt that her youthful Banyana team was decent on the day.
In the previous two matches against Brazil, Ellis complained about too many mistakes that were committed especially defensively. The team has now conceded 13 goals in only the last three matches and scored only one goal in the process, a worrying stat for Ellis who chooses to see positives from playing the worlds number nine and 12 respectively.
Look this is a process, we played two game in three windows and we will work on continuously to do better, the World Cup is not tomorrow."
"Its a process as you see we played Brazil ranked number 9 now we played Australia ranked number 12 and a lot of players raised their hands, we feel it was a better performance but there you say-we need to minimise mistakes once again that is what cost us again but we consistently working on getting better, said Ellis.
