SABC Sport understands that striker Ruzaigh Gamildiens imminent move to Royal AM has been placed in jeopardy.
Gamildien signed for the Durban-based outfit recently as part of a deal struck with Swallows FC for the services of Dillan Solomons and Khetukuthula Ndlovu, effective 1 July, which was subject to the trio agreeing personal terms.
However, with Solomons being unveiled by Kaizer Chiefs on Monday night, SABC Sport understands that the legitimacy of the Gamildien transfer has come into question.
Royal AM CEO Sinky Mnisi on Tuesday alleged that there could be a dispute with Chiefs signing of Solomons.
I think there will be a story unfolding - let me just put it like that for now - in terms of that player [Solomons]. But I will leave that to the powers that be," Mnisi told Sports Night Amplified with Andile.
"But watch the space, thats all I can say. Obviously, Royal AM will be a party to that story. But when it unfolds, you will remember what I said tonight.
"The announcement might have been made but everything has got due processes, and due processes will take place. Let me reserve my comment."
What SABC Sport has uncovered is that Swallows and Royal AM agreed a deal for the trio but the missing piece was for the players in question to sign on the dotted line - until then, the arrangement was not legitimate.
Should Royal AM take Swallows to task, now that one of the players has signed elsewhere, it would mean the club-to-club agreement is completely off the table.
When contacted for comment, Solomons agent rubbished any claims that his client had discussed any potential deal with Royal AM as suggested by Mnisi.
Dillan had offers from five clubs, and the last two clubs that we were in contact with and that followed protocol was Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates," revealed Grant Nieuwenhuys.
"We dealt with the clubs that followed protocol and Ive never received one phone call from Royal AM - you can quote me - that theres 200 percent, no chance that Dillan signed with them."
