Hunt: If it's a football match, we'll lose

SuperSport United coach Gavin Hunt says his side will stay far away from trying to go toe-to-toe with Mamelodi Sundowns in their MTN8 quarterfinal clash at the Tuks Stadium on Sunday.

Hunt feels an open game against the defending champions is not an option. If not toe-to-toe, what then will be Matsatsantsa™s approach?

"Well, I think if we have a football match, we'll lose. But how do we go about it? That takes a lot of game intelligence, how you want to do things. But that can only be practiced and explained, but if we have a football match, we'll lose, there's no doubt about it," said Hunt.

"So, how do we do things? We have to do things a little bit differently, and obviously, that's finer [details] we can try and do but... I mean, we've got an idea but we have to implement those things, which take game intelligence, a little bit of know-how, a little humility.

"Sometimes, I don't want to get too far into football terminology but, you've got to understand these types of things. If you understand the game [and] what the game needs.

"But if we say, right, we're going to have an open game with you, we will lose. So, do we sit and play - all the terminology that people use, sit down there? Do we go high? You know, where do you go, how do you want to play... So, there's a lot of game intelligence in these types of things."
