Pirates confirm technical team changes

Orlando Pirates have confirmed the changes within their technical team following the completion of the 2021/22 season.

Pirates have parted ways with assistant coach Fadlu Davids and head performance analyst Darian Wilken.

Davids will see his contract run out at the end of the month, with The Buccaneers having communicated that it will not be renewed, while Wilken has expressed a desire to pursue a coaching opportunity.

Davids joined the club in 2019 as an assistant coach alongside Rhulani Mokwena under then coach Milutin Sredojevic, before serving as deputy to Josef Zinnbauer and recently taking up a co-coach role alongside Mandla Ncikazi in June last year.

"Ever professional and always disciplined in his approach, Mr Davids leaves the Club having performed his duties in an exemplary manner," confirmed the club in a statement on Friday.

"Meanwhile... Mr Wilken has expressed his intention to head into coaching which is a decision the Club respects and supports. There is no doubt that he will be an asset to the South African football industry one day.

"On behalf of the Club, we would like to wish both Mr Davids and Mr Wilken all the best in their future endeavours."
