Sundowns switch focus to CAFWCL after First Touch annihilation

Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies™ 8-0 demolition of First Touch FC in a Hollywoodbets Super League match played at the Wits stadium earlier yesterday, was a perfect dress rehearsal for the CAF Women™s Champions League opening game next weekend in Morocco.

This is according to Sundowns Ladies™ head coach Jerry Tshabalala after seeing his team hammering a hapless First Touch in what was their 27th game of the season.

Playing their first game since they clinched their third successive Hollywoodbets Super League title, ginger head attacker Lelona Daweti scored four goals, in a game that saw all the attackers fielded coming to the party. After keeping two clean sheets and scoring 15 goals in two matches.

The other goals came from Banyana Banyana striker Melinda Kgadiete, Lesotho international Boitumelo Rabale who netted her 20th goal of the season from the penalty spot and substitutes Andisiwe Mgcoyi and Miche Minnies.

Tshabalala said besides the desire for momentum going to Morocco, improving the goal difference was the other target they have managed to accomplish.

œYou know, as much as we won the league before we could even play the game, I made it clear to the player that this game it™s a Window dressing for CAF Champions League," said Tshabalala.

"We wanted to have that momentum and take it to CAF Champions League with us, so I needed to synch my players to make them aware that the game that we are playing its window dressing for Champions League hence you have seen the kind of performance you know."

œI don™t expect anything less than what we saw today, and I made it clear to them to say if we could get seven goals we will be the first team to have 100 goal difference so they surpass that, they even go beyond the 7 goals, we scored 8 goals.

œSo, we always try and strive for records but it™s not something that put we in our mind but if it™s there to be broken why not.
