De Grasse made his Olympic debut in Rio de Janeiro in 2016 and secured one silver in the men's 200-meter event and two bronzes of the men's 100-meter and the men's 4x100-meter relay events.
Having raced in the three events again in Tokyo in 2021, he added the 200-meter gold, 4x100-meter relay silver and 100-meter bronze to his collection.
"Yeah, another Olympic medal to me would, I think, would cement my legacy," De Grasse said. "You know having already six Olympic medals, if I can, you know, turn that to seven, eight or nine, that would be amazing."

"I don't think any, yeah, no Canadian has ever done that before, so I feel like that would be an awesome, awesome feat for me," De Grasse said.
"Even just to be even in good company with other sprinters across the world. So, I mean, yeah, I'm just going to have some fun with it. Enjoy the moment. I'm not going to put too much pressure on myself to make that happen, but obviously that's the goal. That's the mission at hand."
Canada pocketed seven golds, seven silvers and 10 bronzes at the Tokyo Olympic Games.
