Rune recently started working with former Novak Djokovic coach Boris Becker, and now he has also added Severin Luthi to his team.
Luthi worked with Roger Federer for the majority of his long and successful career, joining the Swiss ace in 2007 and staying with him until his retirement in 2022.
Luthi also coached the Swiss Davis Cup Team for many years but has not been actively coaching since Federer's retirement.
Rune confirmed Luthi's addition on social media, accompanied by a picture of his entire team sitting side by side.
Also included in the photograph was his mother Aneke Rune, who has at times been accused of being too involved in her son's career, but Rune was quick to rubbish the suggestion.
Asked if his mother had played a role in putting together his coaching team, the 20-year-old said, "If there is a boss, it's me because it's my decision.
"I listen to the people around me and like to have my mother there, my fitness coach there and Boris there. If I didn't want any of them here, they wouldn't be here. That's the end of the story."
Rune was also asked about why he decided to join forces with Becker, and spoke highly of the former six-time Grand Slam champion.
"Boris is a great guy. He's a really good man. I think if people mistake him for that, it's totally wrong because he has a great heart and he's a great coach.
"He helped me a lot during because I had the tough middle of the season with everything so it was needed that he came and we start improving again, and he's a great guy, a great coach.
"We did some good work and proper training, so I'm excited for the future.
"It's more mental and tactical than technical, I would say. Of course, he has a few tips, especially on the serve. He had a great serve himself but it's a lot of psychological.
"We're continuing together in. We had two weeks pre-season in Monaco where he was there, we did some good work, proper training, and I'm excited for the future.
"He is experienced, I am less experienced and maybe more eager to play. It is about scheduling right, but for now, we are practising and setting our goals. We will work our scheduling from there."
