"I want to win a Grand Slam this year. That's what I've said in the past and I stick to that." said Rune.
"Obviously I hope it can be achieved at [Roland-Garros]. If not, I hope to make it in the other two Grand Slams. First, we start with one, then we see."
The 20-year-old heads into the French Open tournament on the back of another excellent showing at the Italian Open, where he was defeated in the final by Daniel Medvedev.
Prior to the tournament in Rome, Hune had been a losing finalist at the Monte Carlo Masters and then emerged as a winner at the BMW Open in Munich.
"I have to look at that it's been a good clay season so far for me. I made three finals out of four tournaments. In that way I can't complain, said Rune following his Italian Open final loss.
"As many of you guys know me now, I'm a very eager person to win titles. I've been close, too. Hopefully, I will learn from it," he added.
The Gentofte-born star is only one of three active ATP players who have managed to defeat the legendary Novak Djokovic twice, with Nick Kyrgios and Jiri Vesely making up the exclusive group.
"But yeah, I mean, Paris is the main goal of the clay season. I think I had the matches that I needed to be as well prepared as possible. Now it is the last small things I want to do better the next time I stay in these big matches," concluded Rune.
