Nampalys Mendy urged Leicester to maintain their momentum after they thumped Tottenham.

The midfielder scored his first Foxes goal - six-and-a-half years after joining - in Saturday's 4-1 Premier League rout.

James Maddison, Kelechi Iheanacho and Harvey Barnes piled on the misery for Spurs and boss Antonio Conte.

Rodrigo Bentancur opened the scoring but the visitors slumped to their biggest defeat of the season as Leicester's revival continued.

"We were very good," Mendy told LCFC TV. "Everyone did their job, from the strikers to the defenders. Everyone gave their all in the game and you can see that in the result , we got the win. We have to keep that mentality.

"After we conceded the goal, we kept pushing, we stayed focused. We scored four goals and that's a good thing for us. I am very, very proud.

"It's my first goal for Leicester, so I'm very happy - and for the team to get the win as well."

Conte was back in the dugout following gallbladder surgery and Tottenham assistant Cristian Stellini apologised for the defeat.

He said: "We're disappointed for that because it's not the first time it's happened after a great result (having beaten Manchester City last week).

"Now, we have to find again the way. We know our players normally react well after a game like this and we have to be consistent.

"We have to apologise for that, we don't want this, we want something different. We started well, but you have to play for 90 minutes."

Spurs also lost Bentancur to injury with the midfielder now a doubt for Tuesday's Champions League trip to AC Milan.

Stellini added: "We know that he feels pain, he can walk, so we have to wait a bit of time to check and understand what happened. We hope he feels better in a few days."
