Komane, who succeeded Blache de la Guerre after a decade in the position, was initially appointed on a one-year contract in October 2023.
Now, with her term concluded, NSA President Cecilia Molokwane confirmed to SABC Sport that Komane’s contract has ended and that discussions on her potential renewal will take place soon.
"Can I talk when the time is right when the time is available for that because we're still deliberating on other issues. So, can I talk after we are done and I've been tasked by the executive on Friday with things that I must do. After I've done that, I can talk about that," Molokwane said.
Molokwane discussed the process of selecting the new CEO and the renewal of her contract with the national broadcaster.
"Renewing a contract obviously you know that you have to call a person in and then you do appraisal to the person of what they've done and what has been achieved and what has not been achieved and then you go from there and you do the contract,” the president explained.
“After that new CEO if you have to appoint you have to go and advertise, if you are not advertising, you'll have to appoint somebody within Netball South Africa to act until the position is filled."
Earlier this month, NSA held a board meeting to review the CEO's contract renewal, and today, they will decide on the next steps—whether to retain her or let her go. While Molokwane is responsible for signing off on the contract renewal or termination, she requires the board’s approval to finalize the decision.
"There was a board meeting, there are things that obviously need to be done first as I was tasked by the board, the executive to say, president go and do, 7, 8, 9 first and then we'll meet tomorrow and deliberate on other things, on the 31st we'll know what's going on."
