Olympic Golf: Three way tie at the top of the leaderboard

Great Britain's Tommy Fleetwood shares the halfway lead after day two at the Paris Olympics with Japan's Hideki Matsuyama and Xander Schauffele of the USA.

The Englishman carded a superb second-round 64 to finish the day 11 under par at Le Golf National and tied with former Masters winner Matsuyama and current Open champion Schauffele.

Six birdies and an eagle were marred by just one bogey on the final hole, putting Fleetwood in contention for a medal going into the weekend.

His Team GB partner Matt Fitzpatrick also shot a 64, leaving himself tied in 13th.

Ireland's Rory McIlroy began the day with a superb eagle at the third but struggled for any consistency and finished with a 69 to join Fitzpatrick in 13th.

Two bogeys and two birdies meant McIlroy's team-mate Shane Lowry shot a second successive 71, putting him 43rd.
