Moila says Elroy Gelant’s 11th place finish after crossing the line in a time of 2:09:10, is one of her personal favourite moments at the Paris Games.

''Elroy Gelant's 11th position in the marathon was an outstanding performance, and overall a credible 44th on the medal table out of 206 national Olympics committees, I believe that is something worth writing home about,'' said Moila.

Moila further praised the South African women trio in Cian Oldknow who crossed the line in 32nd place in 2:30:29, while Irvette van Zyl finished 37th in 2:31:14 and Gerda Steyn who finished at 45th in a time of 2:32:5, stating that she is proud of their great effort despite the challenging route they had to endure.

''The women's marathon, which I am passionate about. They were in a strong field too, running in suffocating heat and challenging course in relation to big city marathons. The South African trio ran just close to 6 minutes of their PBs says a lot about their 100% focus, well done to Cian, Irvette and Gerda, they made us proud,'' added Moila.

Moila, who is currently a trustee at the South African women in sport foundation, unpacked what she is currently working on and also expressed her gratitude to all South Africans who have supported her throughout her road running journey.

''For those of you who have been following my journey, I would like to thank you for your support. I am grateful to God for the endurance and the health I enjoy today. I still run but not competitive, my focus is to encourage others to live a healthy lifestyle. I am a Trustee for the South African Women in Sport Foundation, programs we offer are leadership,  mentorship and capacity building, as we strive for equality in sport,'' she concluded.
