The 23-year-old sprinter coached by Irma Reyneke is confident that he can break the SA record of 47.66 set by LJ van Zyl in Ostrava, Czech Republic, in 2011.
Zazini's Personal Best is 48.78.
"Now it's all about chasing the SA record. Anything that comes now, I will be up for it. As I said previously, I've been struggling with a lot of things and now I guess those things are behind me. My mental health is very good now, I'm at a good place, good coach, everything is good and I hardly get injuries," he said.
The sprinter hit two hurdles at the back and the final hurdle, losing crucial seconds that could have seen him run under 49 seconds, leading him to describe the race as his worst this season.
"Of course, this was the worst race this season so far. I've had good races beyond this one but with hurdles, this is part of the game, you are going to knock some hurdles. I just have to stay focused and maintain the same speed," he added.
Zazini will race in the Botswana Grand Prix – World Athletics Continental Tour / Gold label meeting on 29 April.
He hopes to clear the hurdles without a glitch and run a faster time.
"I just have to focus on clearing hurdles perfectly and keeping my composer, keeping my calmness, and just focus on execution," he concluded.
