The fight was scheduled to take place next week on 16 June but the securing of TV coverage has forced Rumble Africa Promotions to move it to next month.
Speaking to SABC Sport at the Hotbox Gym in Johannesburg yesterday, Nontshinga also sees the need to take advantage of this extra time.
"I welcomed it in a very positive way because each and everything that I think that we are behind on, I will have time to polish. So, why rush? At the end of the day the day will come. I 1have to defend my title here at home. I'm glad that everything is coming together and finally the homecoming is happening," he said.
It’s going to be for the first time in more than a decade that a world title fight tournament is held in East London, the Mecca of Boxing in the country. Nontshinga, who hails from Chicken Farm just outside Mdantsane is excited by these developments.
"I'm feeling blessed, you know as a young kid when you start boxing want to be watched and it's always been my dream to defend my title here at home, in front of my home crowd. So ya, it's finally happening. I feel grateful and without my team, none of that would have happened."
