Anna Makallane set to be unveiled as Gauteng Jaguars assistant coach ahead of the 2025 TNL season

SABC Sport has established that former Gauteng Golden Fireballs assistant coach Anna Makallane will be unveiled as the new assistant coach at Gauteng Jaguars ahead of the 2025 Telkom Netball League season.

Makallane has been in camp with the Jags at Cornwall College since mid-March.

In an exclusive interview with the public broadcaster, Makallane adds that training with the new team has been a seamless transition and looks forward to the new TNL season.

Training with the Jaguars is progressing smoothly, and we're gearing up to prepare our athletes for the big tournament TNL. I am looking forward to an exciting competition!" said Makallane.

Makallane is working alongside one of the most successful coaches in the national league coach Rozanne Matthyse, having won a gold and two silver medals with the Jags in three years.

The 50 year old mentor shared excitement about teaming up with Matthyse to help chase another major title.

“I am thrilled to be working alongside coach Rozanne. They almost won the title last season and It makes me believe that I have a great opportunity to grow. I know the goal is to win the title this year and I  look to contribute toward achieving that vision,’’ adds Makallane.

The Tshwane side finished second place last season, losing the prestigious trophy at the hands of coach Martha Mosoahle-Samm’s Free State Crinums.

Makallane shares her expectations ahead of the new season.

“I am looking forward to stepping into the court with my new team, and look to give it my all. The energy of the season is always exciting, new challenges, new goals and a new opportunity to improve. I am looking forward to chasing success with the Jaguars,’’ she expressed.
