Athletics South Africa (ASA) will host its inaugural annual awards in November to recognize the achievements of South African athletes.
ASA president James Moloi is excited about the initiative and calls on athletes to put their best foot forward on the track.
Yah as Athletics South Africa we are preplanning to organise the awards towards our athletes, it will somewhere first week of November,
So Im just urging our athletes to say please prepare yourself because now¦.this year it will be the first time we organising the awards so people must just really do their best said the ASA boss
Moloi said they will go all out to honour the athletes, technical official and staff members. The categories will include top male and female athletes of the year rising young athletes and team of the year, to count the few.
Its a busy year for the sport, with the African Championships in Mauritius in June, the World Championships in the USA, and the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham in August.
Moloi urged the athletes to prepare themselves and do well on the track for ASA to select the best performing athletes.
