Crinums can go unbeaten this season: Jenny van Dyk

The Free State side, under coach Martha Mosoahle-Samm have retained their unbeaten streak - winning eight games, and a draw in their nine outings, leaving them on the summit with 17 points in Division A, ahead of the defending champions Gauteng Jaguars.

Van Dyk says the Crinums have been convincing from day one of the tournament and believes their performance has been inspirational.

"From the first game that I've seen the Crinums play I really felt that they mean business this year. It's good to know that I think for her it's a case of going through the season and trying to get an unbeaten run all the way into the finals which is quite a difficult task to achieve I know but not an impossible task,” van Dyk said.

“So, yes I think the way that they are composing themselves and the way they are setting themselves up, they are a really organised unit and very structured in their approach and I've really enjoyed watching them."

Meanwhile the newly promoted Limpopo Baobabs are yet to win a game in Division A, having lost in all their nine outings.

Van Dyk says things might be worse for them in the relegation/promotion playoffs.

"Look it is always it's always a difficult first season when you enter the A league. They did so well for years in the B section until they won and got promoted. You saw the same thing with the Aloes the previous year, they were really struggling through the season and even this year you can see that they are really making an impact and they are having a much better performance than the previous years,” the coach explained.

“They [Baobabs] might be in trouble to play a promotion/relegation match but they will be set up with enough rest and enough new experience playing in the A section for them to do well in that promotion/relegation and not to lose their position in the A section."
