Sithole was elected as an acting BSA CEO in 2019, after long battles in the sport, which contributed in the decline. In the past three years there has been progress in reviving the iconic sport in the country.
With the nomination of the next leadership to lead for the next three years as the current term ends in December. Speaking to SABC Sport on Saturday night, following a success of Women’s boxing tournament in Durban, Sikhosana says Sithole revived the sport.
"The changes in Boxing under his leadership are unbelievable. Remember when they came in 2019, Boxing was dead in South Africa," Skhosana said.
"They could not find proper leadership, there were always battles in different provinces. However, ever since Sithole took over he has done extremely well with his board.
"He is well educated with different skills, even Boxing events have changed. It shows that now there is a leader, who understands what needs to happen to revive the sport."
With names already submitted for new leadership to take over as from next year, Sikhosana says if the sport want to grow further, they must give Sithole another term in the office.
"I know soon Boxing South Africa will have elections for new leadership. I believe Sithole should stay longer, get the position permanently. He has ended battles in the sport, including fights amongst promoters, which has done harm to the sport over the years," he said.
"We must give him credit, even women’s Boxing is on the rise, because of his leadership. There are more greater things to come under his leadership.
The other thing he has mastered, is reviving the relationship with South African National Boxing Organisation (SANABO), as key stakeholders in development of Boxing and preparing players for Olympics."
