The 49-year-old, who was first elected in 2021, will see his current term conclude in May.
A three-time Olympian and chairperson of Athletics South Africa’s Athletes Commission, Mokganyetsi is eager to continue leading the province for another four years.
"I am available to run for the second term but it depends on the clubs if they appreciate what we have done and then to carry the baton going forward. So, for us now is to make sure that AGN is there on our time until the election arrives depending on the outcome of the elections," Mokganyetsi said.
Mokganyetsi is confident that his administration over the past four years has surpassed expectations, highlighted by winning the Gauteng Sports Awards Federation of the Year accolade.
He rated their efforts an impressive eight out of ten.
"We have moved our administration from a lower level but now I know we are competing with big national federations as a province,” he added.
“I can rate ourselves eight and a half and that eight and a half comes from the office administration, the contribution of the board, the clubs that are playing a role in staging races and make sure that we consolidate one mandate of making sure that AGN remains a number one province in terms of performance, in terms of good governance, that's what we are looking at."
