Runners can start to mark their calendars for the Ultra-Marathon on 13 April, followed by the half-marathon on 14 April.
Anticipating a big turnout, the event expects around 14 000 dedicated runners to participate, while an impressive 18 000 individuals will conquer the 21km race.
By announcing the dates well in advance, the organizing committee aims to facilitate the planning process for international participants, enabling them to prepare for the forthcoming year’s event and conveniently secure their race entries ahead of time.
The half-marathon will celebrate its 25 years of existence and the organizers are planning to make it a running party for the athletes.
“We are thrilled to share the exciting news of our earlier announcement of the Two Oceans 2024 marathon, and we are particularly delighted to provide our numerous national runners with the long-awaited confirmation, allowing them to plan for the 56km and 21km races with absolute certainty. To all our remarkable participants, we are prepared to unleash the splendour and grandeur as we present the Cape Town Jewel, reinstating the complete range of races over a Race weekend in honour of our remarkable 25th milestone half-marathon,” said William Swartbooi, the chairperson of the Two Oceans Marathon NPC.
Whitebooi said it would not be possible to host the event without the City of Cape Town and title sponsors Totals Sports.
The Trial Run, Fun Runs and Cape Town International Friendship Run are back and will take place on Friday, 12 April.
“The reintroduction of the trail Run, Fun Run, and Cape Town International Friendship Run exemplifies our unwavering dedication to Conquer the current and will amplify the vibrancy and enthusiasm of our jubilant celebration,” added Swartbooi.
