Another day, another injury for Bok Sacha Feinberg-Mnogomezulu

Stormers boss John Dobson gave an update on the latest injury to star playmaker Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu.

The young Springbok has endured a torrid time with injuries in the last six months. Knee, hip flexor and concussion issues have resulted in several prolonged stints away from the action.

Feinberg-Mngomezulu ran on in the 12 jersey for the Stormers in their gutsy 24-20 win over the Sharks in the United Rugby Championship clash in Cape Town on Saturday. However, he only lasted to the 37th minute.

Speaking to the press afterwards, Dobson revealed he tried to push through the injury.

"We took him to the edge," he said.

"When he first went down, I thought: 'We made a calamitous error as coaches'. We went six-two [a forwards-heavy bench] and he went down.

"It is his clavicle [collarbone] that went out was back in. We offered it to him to come off, but he said he wanted to keep trying.

"I am not sure if it was helpful for the team, but we should have pulled the trigger [taking him off] a little earlier. He was trying to push through to half-time."

"Three games in a row we have lost him within minutes and it is tough on him."

There's also cause for concern for Sharks coach John Plumtree, as Springboks Aphelele Fassi and Andre Esterhuizen also left the field injured on Saturday.
