Bulls boss Jake White reflects on Sharks demolition job

Coach Jake White was a happy man following the Bulls' comprehensive 44-10 victory over the Sharks on Saturday.

The men from Pretoria showed impressive counter-attacking skills to run in six tries, much to the delight of the Loftus faithful. The result sees them maintain their third place on the congested United Rugby Championship table after seven rounds of competition.

Speaking to Rugby365, White heaped praise on his charges' defensive efforts which resulted in counter-attacking opportunities.

"The transition from defence into attach was outstanding," said the World Cup-winning coach.

"That is the one area I am really happy about. We defended well and when they made a mistake we punished them. We also have a very exciting backline.

"We don't always want to outmuscle teams. I want us to play again where defensively we are sound, our set piece is sound and attacking-wise we are happy.

"We scored three tries from first phase, so it wasn't just power. It was using the scrum as an attacking platform."

The Bulls now turn their attention to the Champions Cup, where they host te formidable Saracens on Saturday. White expects the English side to find the going rather tough.

"It is tough to play in Pretoria at altitude," he said.

"We have to make sure we use that as a home-ground advantage."
