Cheetahs flanker Oupa Mohoje hit with three-week ban

The Cheetahs have lost the services of flanker Oupa Mohoje for the next three weeks after he was hit with a suspension for a high tackle.

Mohoje committed the offense during the Cheetahs' 21-16 Challenge Cup win over Pau last weekend.

Mohoje was cited for charging into a maul and making dangerous contact on Pau centre Yvan Reilhac.

He accepted that he had committed an act of foul play that warranted a red card when appearing before the disciplinary committee.

While the charge would normally carry a six-week suspension, due to the player's clear disciplinary record and guilty plea, the committee decided to grant him the full 50% mitigation.

It means Mohoje will play no part in the Cheetahs' Challenge Cup clash against Scarlets this coming Saturday.

Mohoje can return to action from 9 January if he takes part in a coaching intervention class from World Rugby.
