The Irish province have finished as the bridesmaid in each of the last three editions of the Investec Champions Cup and have not lifted a trophy of any kind in the last four years, winning the PRO14 in 2021.
But Leo Cullen and Jacques Nienaber's charges have enjoyed a fantastic start to the 2024/25 season, losing just once in all competitions.
Leinster face Harlequins in the Champions Cup last-16, a match they are expected to win, as they look to progress deeper into the tournament and go one further this season by claiming the title.
Burger, who won the Champions Cup twice during his stint with Saracens, believes for them to do that, Springboks lock Snyman will be crucial in combating the French clubs they are likely to face later in the tournament.
The 30-year-old has been in sensational form for the club since his arrival from rivals Munster at the start of the season.
"One guy that went over with a bit of pedigree is RG Snyman; he has lived up to expectations for Leinster, after making the move from Munster to Leinster - brave move?" ex-Springboks captain Jean de Villiers said on the Boks Office podcast.
Burger replied: "You can do that nowadays, back in our days like we couldn't go play for the Bulls could we.
"But no, the go-go gadget arm Viking, he's show business like when he's on, he adds a different element for Leinster to have that squad and casually throw in RG Snyman.
"He has got a big role to play for them, especially in Europe where you fight fire with fire. In the URC, you can get mismatches here and there, but in Europe, you can come up against tough French opposition, and there's a lot of them that look like RG Snyman."
