We'll be back, claims Bulls boss Jake White after URC grand final loss

Bulls coach Jake White cut a disappointed figure following a heartbreaking loss in the United Rugby Championship grand final on Saturday.

Earmarked as the favourites, the Bulls hosted the Glasgow Warriors in the URC season finale at Loftus Versveld, only to lose 16-21. The Pretoria franchise had a moment to tie the contest up at the end with a try. However, their maul collapsed on the Warriors' try line and with no sign of the ball, referee Andre Piardi was forced to call time and break the Bull's hearts.

It was the second URC final loss his Bull's charges have suffered since the competition began.

Speaking to the press after the match, White gave credit where it was due.

"I've been in rugby for a long long time and credit to them," said the World Cup-winning coach, as per rugby365.com.

"They defended really well. Some of our big ball carriers got tackled backwards.

"But we'll be back. If I'm really honest about where we are - three years, two Finals, a really young team. Every guy that came on for the Glasgow Warriors is international. And we are not there yet.

"So, there's no nice way. I told them in the change room. When you get an opportunity like that, when you get older, you realise that sometimes you miss an opportunity."

White vowed that the club would learn from the disappointment and avenge the loss next season.

"We will be back," he continued.

"I know - I've already marked [it], we are playing Glasgow away, I already know the date. And, that's all I can say."
