Sharks winger Werner Kok spent 10 minutes in the sin-bin after receiving a yellow card for a WWE-esque suplex in the opening stages of his team's Champions Cup game against Bordeaux-Begles.
The speedster was shown a yellow card just four minutes into the Sharks' second Champions Cup clash on Friday.
Kok is renowned for his energetic performances for the Blitzboks and now the Sharks, but the 29-year-old was perhaps overzealous to get off to a strong start.
In the third minute, he got his clearout on Jean-Baptiste Dubie all wrong. He grabbed the centre around his waist before flipping him onto his back.
Luckily for Kok, it was just a yellow card, with referee Christophe Ridley explaining that Dubie landing on his back meant it couldn't be a red card.
Immediately after he made the mistake, Kok raised his arms in apology and was shown his marching orders.
He even apologised to the fans, who were booing him at the time, and helped Dubie up after the medics saw to him.
While he was off the pitch, Bordeaux scored a try through Renato Giammarioli, but Curwin Bosch knocked over a penalty, and a drop goal as the visitors trailed 7-6.
Kok's actions were quickly likened to a WWE wrestler, with Charlie Morgan tweeting: "Can't stop watching this. Werner Kok could definitely have been in a feisty-but-middling Attitude Era tag-team partnership."
Another tweeted that they were "disappointed" that Kok didn't pin Dubie down for the three count.
It didn't take long for a clip of the incident to be dubbed over with WWE commentary, either.
