The Angolan international, who scored his first goal in South Africa as Chiefs beat AmaZulu 3-1 in a Betway Premiership clash on Wednesday, has quickly endeared himself to the Amakhosi faithful.
For Miguel, this is the kind of performances expected from a foreign player.
"It's always normal for a foreign player, you have to do more than the others because I have to adapt to this country, and prove why I was the chosen one," said Miguel.
"The most important thing is to remain focussed and work hard, that's what I talk to the guys [about], there's nothing more important than consistent and daily hard work, that's what will make a difference."
After a dominant first half on Wednesday night, Chiefs went off the boil in the second half and Usuthu were unfortunate not to score more goals as the Soweto giants held on for the win.
Miguel addressed the importance of consistency in the team’s performance throughout the match.
"I think it's natural. Unfortunately, football players – when winning 3-0 or 4-0 – start to drop, and in the second half we dropped the rhythm a little bit because we worked off the ball with the [scoreline]," he added.
"The message I try to share with the boys is that we cannot relax, whether it's AmaZulu or Mamelodi Sundowns, it doesn't matter who the opponent is, we have to be focussed for 90 minutes and we have to push hard without relaxing.
"Because once you relax, it gives them one goal, and maybe the second goal, and then you are 3-2 and it will be complicated towards the end of the game, like [Wednesday's game].
"But you also have to give credit to AmaZulu for their second half, they were pushing and pressing us, and they played a fantastic second half.
"But the most important thing is to be focussed for 90 minutes and not only 45, and the performance has to be consistent – that's the most important thing, and the message I tried to pass to the boys."
