ABC national play-off final a bonus for Upington City, Orbit College

With promotion to the Motsepe Foundation Championship secured, Upington City head coach Thulani Nkosi says the ABC Motsepe League national play-off final against Orbit College is not a major focus for him.

This is after his primary objective has been achieved after they beat Mpheni Home Defenders of Limpopo 4-2 on penalties to win the semi-final and confirm their promotion to the professional ranks.

City will lock horns with fellow promoted side Orbit College of the North West at Harry Gwala Stadium in Pietermaritzburg on Sunday afternoon, with a tight security plan in place following the scary shooting incident that took place on Friday.

"No, I'm done. Honestly speaking, I'm done. The big one was this one [semi-fina], so whatever is there on Sunday, I'm going to give it to my technical team to deal with," Nkosi told SABC Sport.

"As I'm speaking to you, I'm flying back home [mentally]. [That R1.3-million?] Hayi, no. It doesn't matter now anymore. The objective [was achieved]."

For a TVET College like Orbit, the R1.3-million prize is a lot of money to fight for, but coach Pogisho Makhoye says they just want to enjoy themselves in the final after securing promotion.

"To us [the semi-final on Friday] was the important game. Sunday's one, we are going to have fun, we are going to display what we have been displaying from the first day of the tournament," Makhoye admitted.

"But the most important game was [Friday's] game. We wanted to get promoted, and we have achieved that. So, on Sunday, come and the beautiful game, we will display the beautiful game."
