ABC Motsepe League Player of the Tournament Lesego Sebetlela has signed a four-year contract with Sekhukhune United - opening the door for a career in the topflight, SABC Sport can reveal.

A week after being crowned the player of the tournament during the play-offs hosted in Potchefstroom, Sebetlela will officially leave MM Platinum and form part of coach Kaitano Tembo™s new-look side.

MM Platinum were crowned winners of the amateur league in the North West, subsequently clinching promotion to the GladAfrica Championship, with the 23-year-old defender walking away with a cool R100 000 prize money for his performances.

He was already rumoured to have attracted interest from a few teams in the DStv Premiership after impressing in the play-offs, but Sekhukhune have won the race for his signature on a long-term contract.

Sebetlela™s agent has confirmed the player is on his way to the Premiership but would not disclose his destination.

œI think we all saw what Lesego is capable of and it is no surprise that we had several enquiries for him lately. We would not want to jump the gun and make pronouncements before the team that eventually got his signature makes that public, Basia Michaels of QT Sports told SABC Sport when approached for comment.

The move means Sebetlela is one of three players to have moved to Babina Noko this week following the arrival of Tshegofatso Mabaso and Linda Mntambo as reported by the public broadcaster™s sport desk.
