There were big results for Tanzania and Botswana in the final round of Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers on Tuesday.

Tanzania 1-0 Guinea

Tanzania secured their place at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations with a 1-0 win over Guinea.

Simon Msuva scored the only goal of the game at the Benjamin Mkapa National Stadium after 61 minutes.

The result saw Tanzania move onto 10 points in second place, and left Guinea in third with nine points.

DR Congo 1-2 Ethiopia

The other match in Group H, meanwhile, saw DR Congo qualify as leaders with 12 points despite their 2-1 defeat to bottom side Ethiopia, who ended their AFCON campaign at the bottom of the pile with four points.

Kenya 0-0 Namibia

Kenya saw their faint AFCON hopes end with a 0-0 draw at home to Namibia.

The Harambee Stars had a chance to qualify ahead of Zimbabwe but needed to win their game by at least six goals.

They ultimately ended in third place in Group J with six points, ahead of Namibia on three points.

Cameroon 2-1 Zimbabwe

Cameroon were Group J winners with their 2-1 victory over Zimbabwe where Vincent Aboubakar (18') and Geoges-Kevin N'Koudou (23') were on target as Terrence Dzvukamaja (12') netted for the Warriors, who took second spot with nine points.

Mauritania 1-0 Cape Verde

Mauritania missed out on qualification despite their 1-0 victory over Cape Verde where Mohamed Soueid (45+4') scored the only goal of the game at Stade de la Capitale.

The home team ended in third place on the group standings with seven points, one point behind Botswana, who drew 1-1 with leaders Egypt in their final game, while Cape Verde finished in fourth with four points.

Egypt 1-1 Botswana

Botswana were able to hold onto a point and their place at the upcoming AFCON by drawing with Egypt away from home.

Omaatla Kebatho opened the scoring on eight minutes, and despite Trezeguet netting for the Pharaohs just seven minutes later, the tie ended all square.

Elsewhere, already qualified Mozambique defeated third placed Guinea-Bissau 2-1 as Group I winners Mali thrashed Eswatini 6-0.

South Africa signed off their successful qualification campaign with a comprehensive 3-0 win over South Sudan as Group K runners-up Uganda saw off Congo 1-0.
