Agent: Sibisi ready for next career step

Golden Arrows defender and captain Nkosinathi Sibisi is ready for a fresh start, his agent has told SABC Sport.

There™s growing interest for the Bafana Bafana centre-back with both Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns heavily linked with the player.

But Mike Makaab of Prosport International says the decision will be taken by Arrows chairperson Mato Madlala.

œWe™ve only had perennial discussions with Arrows as to what his next step is. Sibisi is one of the players I would like to chat to the chairlady about - in an ideal world, if there™s a possibility of a good move for him, he™d like that, explained Makaab to SABC Sport.

œBut again, he is contracted to Arrows, he is their captain and he is happy at the club. It™s not that he is unhappy at the club, it™s just that sometimes in a player™s career, he is looking for new challenges and a new environment - that is the case with Sibisi.

The 26-year-old is currently with Bafana ahead of their opening 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Morocco on Thursday and, with the transfer window only officially opening on 1 July, a move away from the Durban-based side isn™t likely to happen before then.

œBut our starting point would have to be me sitting with the chairlady to discuss his future going forward. I have always had an open and transparent relationship with the majority of club bosses, I don™t approach anything with a hidden agenda and I think they appreciate that, Makaab added.

œThat is why I have been in the industry for 24 years. You cannot survive if you are not open and transparent - once I understand what direction to take, that™s when I will involve the player.

Abafana Bes'thende on Wednesday confirmed the signing of former Kaizer Chiefs striker Ryan Moon, who joins on a free transfer after leaving Swedish side Varbergs BoIs earlier this year.
