Alphonso Davies reveals Barcelona snub before joining Bayern Munich

Since joining Bayern fopr just $22m, Davies has been in excellent form and has established himself as one of the best left-backs in the world.

However, it could have been so different. Barca initially approached Davies but the Canada international said they pulled out due to him being Canadian and the 22-year-old admits it hurt.

"Barcelona approached me but the President (Bartomeu) didn't want me because I'm from Canada. This was what the press said, I don't know if the President really said that, but I'm not going to lie, it kind of crushed my feelings."

No doubt Barcelona are now regretting their decision given Davies' exceptional performances.
