Sishuba, who plays for Ligue 1 side Lens FC, previously showed willingness to play for South Africa – having been born in Belgium to a South African father Asanda Sishuba, who also played professional football in Belgium, and a Belgian mother.
The 19-year-old had been selected for the Amajita team that is currently in camp, and Mdaka says Sishuba and other overseas-based players are still sorting out their official documents.
"In particular with Sishuba, I think the office has had contact with him, contact with the parents, and these are the kinds of players that we think we would want to have because we know them," said Mdaka.
"We can even compare them with what we have now, but all the players that we wanted to come for this camp, I think we contacted them and discussed the situation and challenges.
"And with regards to those who had challenges with documentation, and all these other things, it's something we are trying to work on."
Sishuba has already played for the Belgian U17 and U18 national teams, and
has turned out for the likes of Mouscron in Belgium and Lens juniors, while he has been tipped as a good prospect for Bafana Bafana in the future.
However, Mdaka couldn’t confirm nor deny whether the teenager is fully willing to play for SA.
"Sometimes, as a coach, you are in between – you talk to the manager, who talks to the players, and some agents talk to the players and so on," he added.
"But from where we stand, it looks like he's somebody they're interacting with, along with his parents, and I might not know exactly what he's saying on the inside right now."
