Sabc Sport understands that supporters of the club were planning a meeting with the management to express their concerns about certain players in the team.
The president of the club, Sandile Zungu is understood to have also had a meeting with the whole team, to reassure the technical team not to stress about their future as players should also take responsibility for their recent poor results.
AmaZulu has only won one league game in their last nine matches since the beginning of the year.
When asked about the players departures, Folz said he always does what is best for the team.
“We took the decision to let them go elsewhere because I believe that it’s best for the the team and best for the club,” he said.
AmaZulu are sitting on number 10 on the log table with 28 points, having only won six games in 23 matches.
Folz insists that all his decisions are based on wanting to do better for the KwaZulu Natal outfit.
“I always do what’s best for the team, that’s my only priority. We have a clear vision on where we want to go. It’s a process, things don’t just happen so you have to take decisions. Every decision that we take is for the benefit of the team and looking to improve what we have. Every decision that we take is to get positive results and outcomes,” he added.
The Usuthu coach also confirmed that Lehlohonolo Majoro is still part of the team insisting that he missed the previous game because of an injury.
“It was never the intention of the club at any point to get rid of Majoro, he was injured for the previous game with an ankle injury that has been persistent. The was never any issue with him,” he concluded.
