Arsenal linked with a move for Nigeria's Ademola Lookman

Arsenal are reportedly preparing a significant offer to lure Atalanta's star forward Ademola Lookman to the Emirates.

The Gunners are said to be planning a bid of $50 million, plus Polish defender Jakub Kiwior, in an attempt to secure the services of the Nigerian international.

Lookman has been a revelation since joining Atalanta two seasons ago, catching the eye of Europe's top clubs with his dazzling performances. His stellar form, particularly his hat-trick against Bayer Leverkusen, which helped Atalanta clinch the UEFA Europa League title, had catapulted him into the spotlight.

The 26-year-old forward's future has been the subject of intense speculation, with clubs like Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich, Liverpool, and Chelsea all reportedly showing interest.

The Nigerian international's future became even more uncertain when he missed Atalanta's first Serie A game of the season, fuelling rumours of an imminent transfer.

Among the interested parties, Arsenal and Liverpool were seen as the frontrunners, with both clubs looking to bolster their attacking options before the transfer window closes.

In a twist to the transfer saga, Arsenal's proposed package included a $50 million cash offer, supplemented by the inclusion of Jakub Kiwior, who is valued at $30 million. This has brought the total value of the offer to $80 million, surpassing Atalanta's reported $70 million valuation of Lookman.

The Gunners are evidently determined to bring the former Fulham winger to North London as they aim to strengthen their squad for the Premier League campaign.

Despite the substantial offer, no official agreement has been reached between the clubs, leaving the door open for other suitors to make a move.

The clock is ticking, with only eight days remaining before the transfer window slamms shut. Any club interested in securing Lookman's signature will have to act swiftly to finalise a deal.
