The injury occurred in a clash where Alessandro Bastoni's tackle on Ousmane Dembele led to Dembele's leg inadvertently striking Calafiori in the back of his calf.
At first, the severity of the injury drew comparisons to Jurrien Timber's long-term absence from the previous season, but recent updates from Italy's coach, Luciano Spalletti, suggest a more optimistic outlook.
Spalletti has indicated that while the injury looked serious at first, Calafiori's prognosis has improved significantly.
"We need to assess Riccardo but with our staff, we've a good chance to have him back with us for the next game," said Spalletti.
Arsenal, who are set to play their first game of September on the 15th, have a demanding schedule ahead, with five fixtures across the Premier League, Champions League, and Carabao Cup before the end of the month.
Despite these upcoming challenges, it is believed that Calafiori could make a swift recovery, potentially returning to action within days rather than weeks.
This news will come as a relief to Arsenal fans and the club, who are keen to avoid a lengthy spell without the defender.
