Arthur Zwane responds to Caleb Bimenyimana boo-boys

Kaizer Chiefs coach Arthur Zwane says he will observe striker Caleb Bimenyimana’s body language to assess his reaction to the boo-boys.

The coach substituted the lanky forward shortly after moans and groans from a faction of supporters during their DStv Premiership clash against Richard Bay, which Amakhosi won 1-0 via a goal from defender Siyabonga Ngezana.

Zwane wants to protect Bimenyimana.

"As a coach you always want your player in the right frame of mind and you look at how he responds at times. Does that give him a boost to say you know what I'm going to do my best until I get a goal or I'll play for the team and help the team," he said.

The Burundian is in his first season at Chiefs and has scored seven goals.

Although he hasn’t added to that tally from his last eight matches, Zwane still has confidence in Bimenyimana.

"But once you see the body language slopping then that's a sign to say, let me save him, that's my job. Back to the drawing board again, back to the training, we work on him because he's a good player. He'll help us going forward, I have no doubt about that," he added.

Zwane explained why he also used Bimenyimana in a different role against Richards Bay.

"We had to say, Caleb you must come into 10, there will be that space when they come to you, you will occupy it with Chris (Christian Saile). Then what's going to happen is that Mdu (Mduduzi Shabalala) will always be free and that's exactly what happened," he added.

The coach’s overall assessment is that the striker did what was asked of him.

"To be quiet honest, Caleb was not bad today. He had some shot at goals that the keeper saved so that tells you that he did well as a striker. Unfortunately, you'll always be under pressure as a Kaizer Chiefs player," Zwane concluded.
