Bafana kick off 2025 AFCON qualifying against Uganda

Bafana Bafana kick off their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign against Uganda on September 6.

The South African Football Association confirmed the Group K fixture, which will take place at the Orlando Stadium between the 57th and 95th FIFA ranked teams.

Completing Bafana's group are South Sudan (169) and Congo-Brazzaville (118), with the top two teams going on to qualify for the AFCON finals in Morocco from December 21, 2025 to January 18, 2026.

For head coach Hugo Broos this competition represents another opportunity to see how far he can take his team, after guiding Bafana to third place in the most recent AFCON, in the Ivory Coast.

SAFA president Danny Jordaan's official statement read: "Ticket sales are now open, please come out in numbers and make it count in the stands.

"We want to continue the momentum and the amazing scenes we saw in Bloemfontein when Bafana Bafana faced Zimbabwe in June. We want to see the same at Orlando Stadium."
