Banyana Banyana see off Senegal in friendly international after first half goals

Amogelang Motau and Noxolo Cesane were on target as Banyana Banyana registered a 2-0 victory against Senegal in their friendly international played at Stade Lat Dior in Thies.

After playing to a disappointing 1-1 draw in the first game of the two-match series at home, Banyana coach Desiree Ellis made whole changes to her starting line-up.

Only five players, including Kaylin Swart, Lebohang Ramalepe, Bambani Mbane, Motau and Cesane were retained from the side that started on Saturday.

The changes seemed to have the perfect impact as Ellis' team took the lead after 13 minutes, when Motau found the back of the net directly from a free-kick.

The hosts threatened on a few occasions to find for the equaliser but Swart was solid enough in the Banyana goal.

Cesane then doubled the away team's lead minutes before the halftime break, courtesy of a neat finish.

Banyana should have had a third after the interval but Nthabiseng Majiya blazed her effort over the crossbar.

Senegal were reduced to 10 players with 20 minutes remaining when Coumba was shown a straight red card for a foul on Swart, who was stretchered off the field.

Ellis' charges saw out the remainder of the contest without any hassles to end the international break with a victory.
