Barcelona face injury woes ahead of Champions League clash

Hansi Flick has announced his squad for the crucial Champions League match against Red Star Belgrade, scheduled for Wednesday night.

The German coach has opted for the same players who faced Espanyol in the recent derby at the Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys, but sadly, he will not welcome any injured players back into the fold.

The injury list remains concerning, with Eric Garcia, Marc Bernal, Marc-Andre ter Stegen, Andreas Christensen, Ferran Torres and Ronald Araujo still sidelined.

Flick hopes to have Araujo and Garcia back after the upcoming international break, but their absence will be felt in what is a demanding week for the Catalan side.

Barcelona's travel plans have them landing in Belgrade at 13h15 GMT. Flick has scheduled a training session at the Rajko Mitic Stadium for 19h00 GMT, followed by a press conference where he will speak alongside one of the players.

The full Barcelona squad comprises: Pau Cubarsi, Alejandro Balde, Inigo Martinez, Gavi, Pedri, Robert Lewandowski, Anssumane Fati, Raphinha, Inaki Pena, Pablo Torre, Fermin Lopez, Marc Casado, Pau Victor, Lamine Yamal, Dani Olmo, Frenkie de Jong, Jules Olivier Kounde, Wojciech Szczesny, Ander Astralaga, Hector Fort, Gerard Martin and Sergi Dominguez.

The team was forced to train in the gym on Monday due to severe rainfall that has affected Catalonia, particularly in the surrounding areas of Sant Joan Despi, where Barcelona's training complex is located.

The players are determined to shift their focus back to football after their derby victory, as they prepare for two crucial away matches this week: the Champions League encounter against Red Star and a league clash against Real Sociedad on Sunday.
