Barcelona star Dani Olmo faces a month on the sidelines

FC Barcelona's Dani Olmo was forced off the pitch during a La Liga match against Girona on September 15 at Montilivi after experiencing muscular discomfort.

Coach Hansi Flick made the decision to substitute the Spanish international just over an hour into the game.

Initial assessments suggested that the injury was not serious, and Olmo himself left the stadium feeling optimistic about a swift recovery.

However, the following morning brought disappointing news. Medical staff conducted further tests at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper, revealing that the discomfort stemmed from a more serious strain of the right hamstring.

Barcelona later confirmed that Olmo would be sidelined for approximately four to five weeks due to the extent of the injury.

Despite the setback, Olmo has been diligently following a tailored rehabilitation programme, common for players dealing with similar injuries.

Recently, he has made significant strides, training on the pitch alone and reportedly feeling positive about his recovery. The upcoming international break will be crucial for his reintegration with the squad.

Olmo is expected to return in time for the clash against Sevilla on October 20. If all goes well, he could see some game time, helping him regain match fitness.

Following the match against Sevilla, Barcelona faces a challenging schedule, including key fixtures against Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, and a Catalan derby against Espanyol, making his return even more vital for the team's ambitions.
