Bayern legend slams Lucas Hernandez for trying to force PSG move

Bayern Munich legend Lothar Matthaus has slammed defender Lucas Hernandez for trying to force a move to Paris Saint-Germain.

Hernandez missed most of the season because of injuries but had been a steady performer in campaigns prior.

Since joining from Atletico Madrid, the 27-year-old has made 74 appearances for the Bavarians and won four Bundesliga titles and a Champions League.

The France international has refused to sign a new contract with his current one set to expire at the end of next season and instead of risking him leaving on a free transfer, Bayern could decide to cash in on him now.

One Bayern great, Matthaus, has not taken kindly to Hernandez' actions, suggesting he is holding the club to ransom and slammed him for unprofessionalism.

"I'd sell him immediately. He obviously has no appreciation left towards the club. It's true he always showed mentality on the pitch, but he was also injured several times over months. As a player, you have to remember that and stay loyal," Matthaus told Sky.

Hernandez has won 33 caps for France and was a member of the Les Bleus squad that won the 2018 World Cup.
